HomeWelcome to the Friends of Littleborough Stations website. We are here to improve the stations of Littleborough and Smithy Bridge by improving access, providing shelter, improving security and information for all rail users. We lobby the passenger transport executive and the rail service providers to provide step-free access, effective waiting shelters, CCTV, public address and visual displays, exhibitions of art work, help points, cycle lockers, flower displays and events such as carol singing and mince pies. We have a joint committee with Littleborough Historical and Archaeological Society to open Littleborough Stations as a museum, archive and teaching area. We do practical work on the stations, such as planting flower tubs and herb pots, displaying art work, painting and tidying. We encourage local schools to take an interest in their stations and rail travel. We work with other station groups on the Calderdale Line forming The Gritstone Line partnership. See our website: http://www.gritstoneline.com Littleborough, Hollingworth Lake and the Rochdale Canal. We encourage travel by train to all these attractions |
